LITERATURE, TERRITORY AND TYPICAL PRODUCTS AT DUCA DI DOLLE On Sunday, May 24th, at 16:30, an unconventional event between literature and typical products at Duca di Dolle Estate, laying down on the hills in the heart of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore production area.

Four renowned authors from Veneto will be presenting their last booksat Duca di Dolle Estate, immersed into the wineyards of Prosecco Superiore. A literay conversation during which every author will talk about his relationship with local gastronomy and with the Conegliano Valdobbiadene landscape.
Cristiana Sparvoli, journalist and writer, will present her book "Radicchi Stellari", a rich collection of curiosities, recipes by great chefs, all about the Radicchio Rosso di Treviso Igp, the famous chicory made in Treviso.
The venetian Flavio Birri, author of "Cucina sotto torchio", will take us into a travel towards the fascinating history of the first gastronomic books engraved in Venice during XV and XVI centuries. Another venetian, Alessandro Marzo Magno, will present us "Il Genio del Gusto", the travel of the Italian cuisine toward the recognition of "best cuisine of the world", thanks to contaminations from other countries and to Italian excellent products.
Finally, Giuliano Pasini will present "Io sono lo straniero", a detective story set in Rolle village.
The event is part of Agriturist per Expo 2015, a project which aim is to involve the local agritourism in the organization of thematic events during Expo 2015.
At the end of the literary conversation, there will be a tasting of Duca di Dolle Prosecco Superiore sparkling wines and local products, all cultivated and prepared inside Duca di Dolle Estate.

Lying on the green hills of Rolle in Cison di Valmarino (Treviso), in the heart of the production area for Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Duca di Dolle estate has its roots in history. The estate, which has its landscape safeguarded by the Italian Environment Fund, was in the sixteenth century the site of a monastery of medieval origin and the entrance and the cloister arches still remain to this day. It was actually the Camaldolese friars who first started the winemaking tradition so as to make the hermitage a landmark for the area.
The Relais Duca di Dolle is a charming agritourism, created from the old 16th century Camaldolese hermitage, which has been fully renovated in keeping with the original structure, made up of several buildings located right on top of a panoramic hill just a few steps from the village of Rolle.

The accommodation has immense charm and elegance and in 2014 it won the Tripadvisor recognition of Excellence in the hospitality industry and the Certificate of Excellence 2014 from Holiday Check, the main international website for tourist reviews and online bookings, with millions of users around the world.

There are thirteen accommodation units in total: nine double rooms and four apartments, equipped with every comfort, in order to meet the needs of an international clientele. In the terraced garden of the Relais, from where you can enjoy an incomparable view over the vine-covered hills of Rolle, a splendid swimming pool gives guests a relaxing break after a day spent outdoors surrounded by nature. In addition to the relaxation area, there are also bicycles at the guests’ disposal for excursions in the surrounding area, as well as sophisticated Venetian cookery courses, organised by reservation.

For business meetings there is a meeting room with 30 seats and video projector, while for ceremonies such as marriages and others there is a beautiful external gazebo, called “Cavana”, with 30 seats and a large, beautiful fireplace.

Of course, it is also possible for guests to enjoy the excellent Duca di Dolle sparkling proseccos, accompanied by the salami and other specialities produced within the estate. The raw ingredients used in the kitchen of the Relais for breakfast and snacks (cakes, jams and jellies, bread and breadsticks, which are all made in house, as well as traditional salamis and much more) come almost entirely from the company itself, and only in some cases from other carefully selected local producers.

Staff are courteous, discreet and available to assist guests during their stay.
