TASTING EXPO 2015 - A JOURNEY THROUGH SPRING DELIGHTS
An exclusive evening to celebrate the many herbs that grow during spring in the territory of the river Piave. Good to eat, excellent for health and well-being, will be interpreted with skill and originality by chef Luigi de Barbiero The Calandrine.
An evening that wants to be a real tribute to the region around the Piave, which has always given simple but precious ingredients, with which you can create masterpieces of culinary art. Here is a menu of meat (red and white) made special by the clever use of products called "poor", that are actually rich in nutritional properties and characterized by antique and unique flavors. Within the walls of Le Calandrine, historic restaurant in the province of Treviso, you can experience an unforgettable journey to discover the traditional flavors in total harmony with the themes of the Expo.

During spring the Treviso countryside expresses all its beauty: colors and fragrances blend together in a unique, almost magical, harmony. By the love for the land and the creativity of the chef Luigi Barbiero, spring delicacies such as arugula, artichokes and wild herbs, will be reinterpreted and skillfully combined with other excellent seasonal ingredients to create original and tasty dishes. Not only that, each dish will be further enhanced by a careful selection of white and red wines produced by renowned local farms.

LOCAL HISTORY OF ITALY

Once upon a time there was a tavern ... Born from the renovation of an old farmhouse used as a stable, in the landscape of river Piave, the tavern has been enlarged and evolved step by step by the will and commitment of the three partners - Gianni, Remo and Iliana - who believe in the beauty of the environment and the flavors of the territory. The hallmark of the Park Restaurant Le Calandrine's tavern its is own coat of arms, inherited from the Papadopoli family, counts originally from Corfu that lived in Venice, which inspired the name of the restaurant. The Calandra is in fact the bird representative of the Grave of Papadopoli (an area near river Piave), where it has found its ideal habitat.
