Event > THE 'PARCO DEL SOJO', THE ONLY OPEN-AIR, CONTEMPORARY-ART MUSEUM IN THE VENETO REGION, CELEBRATES

THE 'PARCO DEL SOJO', THE ONLY OPEN-AIR, CONTEMPORARY-ART MUSEUM IN THE VENETO REGION, CELEBRATES A MAGICAL LOCATION OFFERING A BLEND OF HISTORY,NATURE, TRADITION AND CONTEMPORARY ART.
Thanks to the intuition and foresight of the architect Diego Morlin, this park entirely dedicated to art and nature was created at a site that had been abandoned for decades.

Over these last ten years a lot of hard work has been carried out to clean and restore the site itself, various internal structures and the pathways leading through the wooded areas. Numerous events and exhibitions held during this period have been highly appreciated by the local residents and also by art enthusiasts and the cultural world in general at both the regional and national level. Growing interest in the park and passionate dedication on the part of those who have invested time and energy in this venture have resulted in a fascinating service for the public.

This innovative project has valorised an area of extraordinary historical interest. Magical sensations kindled in this setting are stimulated by the installation of a series contemporary works of art produced by Italian and foreign artists, who often retrieved in the surrounding countryside some of the long-lasting materials which they used. The hillside spur area locally known as the 'Sojo' and the Contrada di Covolo, the nearby village which has been inhabited since the late Neolithic Age, have gained increasing renown in recent years, attracting many visitors thanks to the presence and the fascination of contemporary art.

In the setting in which these creations are located one can imagine that a 'dialogue' is engendered and occurs between the artists' works and the surrounding natural environment; occasionally one has a sense of perfect harmony and at times the relationship may appear as slightly strident.

The Park is not only a place where one may absorb natural and artistic stimuli; it has also become a venue for cultural events organised to present the works of poets, musicians, film directors and dramatists and recently-published literary works.
