Event > The rope of love

THE ROPE OF LOVE Rope yourself in love and do it in the "Renaissance style"!

The Renaissance was an extraordinary period that was born in Florence and gave birth to La Commedia dell'Arte, "Italian comedy," a humorous theatrical presentation performed by professional players who traveled in troupes throughout Italy in the 16th century. Performances took place on temporary stages, mostly on city streets, but occasionally even in court venues. One of the most promiment artists was Isabella Andreini, the first actress in the world, who was born in Padova and worked in Florence where she was a real 'diva'. She was famous for being a good writer and an excellent actress. She toured with her troupe and performed in palaces and became internationally famous. Music, dance, witty dialogue, and all kinds of chicanery contributed to the comic effects of the Commedia dell'Arte and that's what you'll find in our funny comedy! A homage to our past and to an art form that spread throughout Europe, with many of its elements persisting into present-day theater. But also a homage to our ancestors and how they lived in small 16th-century villages: the crops and food used to eat and to create other food. La fune dell'amore is a funny and interesting way of experiencing an hour among Renaissance citizens.
